Cleaning: First off you should never soak or submerge any of the wood stems I make. Simply take a cotton swab dipping it in high proof alcohol, squeeze out the excess then swab out the inner portion of the stem to remove any buildup doing this as needed. Let dry, you’re good to go.
Be advised, as with all my work its natural as Mother Nature intended. There may be voids, worm holes, live edges and raw features. Each piece is unique and no two are the same. The piece you receive most likely will not be the same as what is pictured but will be a beautifully unique handcrafted piece.

Because I had to wait a little extra time for my orders one time, Ed’s wife threw in a couple extra wooden bowls. One was a cocobolo injector bowl, and I had also ordered one in tiger wood. Both are stunning in their contrasts. The TW is more vibrant and the cocobolo is classic cocobolo. They look great and feel great in the hand. Ed lets the wood speak even louder than his elegant design.
I run a Universal Baller with a full set of adapters so I can run it in almost any way imaginable. So I have been able to test this with a 14mm injector, 18mm injector, and a 22mm diffuser head.
This one shines with a little 14mm injector, and the basket one hitter screen. Just move the screen down more if you want a full sized bowl. A small injector heats fast so quick one/two hit microdoses work perfectly. By the time the next is packed, the vape is back up to heat (if wireless). Depending on where you set the basket screen you can pack a decent .2-3g sized bowl, or a microdose. The wood helps insulate the vape head so it seems to temper the heat, and protect you from the harshness of high, one and done heats.
There is an added wooden flavor that mixes beautifully with terps and changes and evolves with use. But the insides have yet to blacken and fully heat cure from use. That may take some time. Perhaps years.
With an 18mm injector the bowls are bigger, the screen is larger, and the vape might need to be hand held it sits so high on the bowl, wireless might balance, but wired might need constant handheld attention. I prefer this one for 14mm. The Flowerpot bowl is the 18mm big brother if you want this microdose experience with a more compatible bowl. You can get similar results with a 22mm diffuser and have all the extra mass and airflow that entails.
I really love every bowl I have from Ed, but I know I love this one when I could be running 22mm, but my 14mm injector keeps winning the reach test multiple times a week, because in a perfect world, I would just stick with diffusion and keep things simple if this bowl wasn’t so good for microdosing and changing things up.
I’ll keep writing reviews of the other bowls and doodads I have acquired over the next few days/weeks.
This one is well worth buying if you have a compatible vape.
My man, you really laid it out there, thank you so much for all you have shared am most grateful and know others will enjoy reading your review as much as I have. Long time DHV’er and have been using my flowerpot B-zero with glass injector bowl since the start. After breaking yet another glass bowl, and having seen these talked about for so long. I finally gave it a shot and honestly I couldn’t be happier. The bowl is beautiful, expertly crafted and won’t break on me!
Overall it’s been a great upgrade from my glass bowls and I highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for sharing your feelings here for that piece. Thats a big reason for me getting started in the vape industry, we all know glass breaks. Offering these unique alternatives that dont has been fun and rewarding for me. I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come and if I can do anything for you in the future pls let me know.
works great with my terp hammer
Thank you so much for sharing this here, hope you enjoy it for a long time to come!
EP covered most of it but I can definitely back it up. Amazing craftsmanship: Ed you're an exceptional woodworker. This is far and away the best bowl you could use with the B-Zero and I'd be willing to bet any other ball vape that uses an 18mm injector style diffuser. The bowl is light but very strong, beautiful to look at, and much better at evenly heating all material the with an injector than the shovelhead or a glass bowl. I love the shovelhead but for an injector it's too wide at the base; this is THE way to go. It does impact the taste slightly like any wood, but I personally like the little bit of earthiness it gives, and at this price the value is absolutely fantastic and definitely unbeatable.
It's also worth noting that I got the 14mm joint and the joint is quite long as compared to most others. It even fits my CH Osprey which I love, but has by far the most recessed joint I've ever seen in nearly thirty years of collecting glass and does not accommodate the vast majority of bowls without an extender or passthrough adapter. This fits perfectly and sits just level with the top of the glass where the recess begins.
Long story short, it would quite literally be impossible for me to be more satisfied with my purchase. I will definitely be getting an 18mm as well.
Bro I had to start with your comment here 'Long story short, it would quite literally be impossible for me to be more satisfied with my purchase.' thats a heckofa statement and thank you for sharing this. I am thankful to be able to do what I love and love hearing such kind words. This is why I do what I do and cant say how grateful I am to have you post this here. As I tell eveyone I am here for you no matter what however I can be.
Wish you alot of great times with that piece and all the best.
I wish I hadn't waited so long to try a wooden bowl. Metal and glass had always done their job so I wasn't sure if it would be worth it.. Well it was worth it. I am experiencing an entirely new depth of flavour with these injector bowls. I don't know how to describe it, it's more 'earthy' and 'nourishing' somehow.. Suffice to say I plan on upgrading all my bowls to wood soon. And last but certainly not least they are gorgeous handmade works in themselves. I usually hide all my glass / metal bits and pieces but I leave this on display because I genuinely love looking at it and want other people to see it too. Feels wonderful in the hand too. Thank you Ed for making these functional works of art that are so accessible and affordable. Always a fan!
