Arizer Solo Stem

I began making the Ed's Wood Arizer Solo Stem as an alternative to the stock glass vapor stems that come with the Arizer Solo. Measure in at 4” in length at just a little over a 1/2” OD to fit snug and secure in the unit. These will fit both the Solo 1 & 2. Each has 4 slots to provide for better airflow. A 1/2” screen is installed with a retaining clip over the top, so it never falls out. Being wood they are virtually indestructible. All pieces have a 14mm tapered mouthpiece making them usable as a water pipe attachment!

My Wood Arizer Solo Stems are made from 4 different species, African Blackwood, Nicaraguan Cocobolo, & Guatemalan Granadillo. Blackwood is by far one of my favorite species to work. The finish is the finest of all I feel. Cocobolo is my second in line of favorites with so much life and vibrance. Granadillo is a choice wood that reminds me a lot of Hawaiian Koa but much denser.

I have designed and am making all stems now with a completely new wood/bushing connection. Making it easier with less hassle for cleaning & maintaining its longevity. Each stem comes with a few extra screens and now 3 high temperature orings. There is a small groove in the wood shaft that presses into the stainless-steel bushing that holds an oring. The shaft is then pressed into the SS bushing and held in place securely with a compression fit. Having the oring allows the user to simple slide off the bushing to easily remove the screen while leaving the clip in place. You can then take a cotton swab dipped in high proof alcohol and swab out the inside of the stem and bushing. Let it dry, place a new screen under the clip, the oring should still be in good shape. If not, simply take the old one off and slide a new one on. Press the shaft back into the bushing for a solid fit.

Please do remember, these wooden stems should never be washed, soaked, submerged or dipped in any liquid ever! This will cause the wood to swell and may crack, surely it will discolor, and neither is good!

Be advised, as with all my work its natural as Mother Nature intended. There may be voids, worm holes, live edges and raw features. Each piece is unique and no two are the same. The piece you receive most likely will not be exactly the same as what is pictured but will be a beautifully unique handcrafted unit.

A Thing of Beauty

Ed’s wood stem is what should initially come with the Arizer Solo 2 and not these breakable stems, which have cost lots in terms of replacements/shipping and time waiting.

Ed is a wonderful man, and his creations are one of a kind. The wood stem enhances the total vaping experience. They are very aesthetically pleasing, and it gives me the look and feel of being a true Cannabis aficionado.

The filters require cleaning, if you use the stem often. The perfect solution, when a stem and its filter begins getting gummed up, I just swap with another clean filter. Easy peasy!

5 stars Ed! Totally pleased man! I had high expectations, and it met or surpassed that.

The vapour was overall very smooth. The wood stem gives and allows for a nice and easier haul. The superior battery of the Solo 2 are ideal for long vape sessions with Ed’s beautiful creations.

Beautiful work

Purchased one of these after getting the water pipe adapter version. Works great and seems to hold more than the stock stems. Very snug fit so no issues with it rattling around.

I do find that these add a slight woody flavor to the vapor which I really enjoy. It doesn’t overpower the vapor but just gives it some nice undertones. Goes great alongside a nice bourbon!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it so much. Hope you do for a long time to come. A nice hit and a nice bourbon gotta make for a great experience, enjoy.

Form and function - A beauty you won't want to hide

Pros: Fits my Arizer Solo perfectly. Excellent draw. Beautiful craftsmanship and color of the wood. Old school quality and pride.

Cons: It's too nice to hide. I have young kids so I can't keep it out in the open 24/7, where it deserves to be next to the good dishes and other things I hold of high value for other to appreciate :)

Thanks Ed - I love it!

Haha, sounds like the con is a pro too lol. Gosh thanks so much for sharing your feelings here and letting others know. Am most grateful for you. Am always here for you however whenever. Wish you well and all the best.

Worth the upgrade

Even if it didn’t improve airflow, (which it does amazingly) it would be worth upgrading just for the durability factor. This stem is a vast improvement over the stock stems and should be added to every Solo for a better experience. The cocobolo wood is aesthetically much more pleasing.

Thank you for hitting those points of improved air flow and durability, that was my focus when making these as alternatives way way back. Glad you like the Cocobolo its by far one of my most favorite species to work. Hope you are enjoying it for a long time to come.
